Exact units confirmed on your quote. The point of a Portaboom is simple: the controller steps out of the live lane and runs the boom from a safe position. It slots into traffic plans alongside portable signals and VMS boards.
The person standing in the lane with a stop/slow bat. The boom arm does the stopping; the controller operates it remotely from behind the barrier line — same control of traffic, human out of the strike zone.
A handheld remote, from wherever the controller can see the traffic — typically well off the carriageway. Short learning curve; the commissioning handover covers it.
Days of normal operation per charge. For long shifts and multi-week jobs, charging and swap arrangements are sorted with the supplying fleet when you book.
Lights run an unattended shuttle flow on a fixed closure; a Portaboom is for controlled access — gates, haul road crossings, concrete pours — where a human decides who goes, just not from the middle of the lane. Plenty of jobs use both.
Portabooms appear in NSW traffic control practice precisely for bat-replacement — but what your specific TMP allows is the plan's call. We supply the gear that fits the plan you're running.
Delivered, stood up and commissioned — it's compact gear, so it often rides along with the rest of the traffic package on one truck.
